The Electro-Governance Group (EGG) - Welcomes Anne Campbell
The Electro-Governance Group (EGG) welcomes its 2020-2021 Junior Research Fellow, Anne Campbell. Anne is a fourth year Political Science (Honours) student at Western University focusing on post-9/11 international security, cybersecurity, and gender. She has worked extensively in research, policy and human rights at the Senate of Canada and with the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders. Currently, Anne is researching the impacts of COVID-19 on international and domestic security and is looking forward to working closely with members of the EGG in order to explore the socio-political implications of technological change, international security, and gender.

EGG member, Nandita Biswas Mellamphy, presented "Hacking the Data Body:" at the Inaugural Workshop of The Posthumanism Research Network (PRN) at Brock University.
Benjamin Muller - European Union Interview
The Electro Governance Groups’s Benjamin Muller answers questions about the European Union and its current Migration Crisis in a recent interview. The biggest challenge Professor Muller depicts is the vulnerability of states that are on the periphery of the EU and the Neigbourhood Policy of the European Union. In addition, from a comparative he looks at what Canada could learn from the European Union and its approaches to governing borders and migration.

Dan Mellamphy and Nandita Biswas Mellamphy - New Book
Dr. Dan Mellamphy & Dr. Nandita Biswas Mellamphy have published a new anthology entitled The Digital Dionysus: Nietzsche and the Network-Centric Condition (New York: Punctum Books) with contributions by both of them, along with a host of international scholars including R. Scott Bakker—himself another member of The Electro-Governance Group—Eugene Thacker, Arthur Kroker, Dylan Wittkower, Horst Hutter, Heike Schotten, Shannon Bell, Babette Babich, Jen E. Boyle, Sarah Choukah, Manabrata Guha, Nicola Masciandaro, Gary Shapiro, Julian Reid, Joseph Nechvatal and Dominic Pettman. “Dan Mellamphy and Nandita Biswas Mellamphy have staged a brilliant collaboration among critical theorists from a range of disciplines to explore the import of Nietzschean thought for contemporary issues in media, technologies and digitization. Marta Dyczok - New Book
Dr. Marta Dyczok has published a new Open-Access book on the topic of The_EGG’s recent 4-day “Red-Web/Proxy-War/Drone-Vision/Krelin-Internet” Event. The book is entitled Ukraine’s Euromaidan: Broadcasting through Information Wars with Hromadske Radio.
Tom Cooke and Benjamin Muller - New Publication
EGG Members Tom Cooke and Benjamin Muller have just published an article on triangulation of security, technology and architecture in this month’s issue of International Political Sociology entitled ‘Ferocious Architecture: Sovereign Spaces and Places by Design,’ co-researched/co-written with Miguel de Larrinaga, Philippe M Frowd, Can E Mutlu, Adam Nowek, Daniela Johannes, and Deljana Iossifova.

Nandita Biswas Mellamphy - Keynote Speaker at 2nd Annual Social Science Academic Conference
Professor Nandita Biswas Mellamphy is delivering the morning keynote address entitled The Fog of Peace: War by Any Other Means at The Second Annual Social Science Academic Conference: Pursuing Peace in an Age of Insecurity. The conference will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 beginning at 10:30 AM in the UCC Community Room and also features an evening keynote address by Jean Chretien. All are welcome to attend.
